And so Byxso began to emulate it's new found idol and cobbled together a studio in a remote forest. ![]() ![]() But Byxsokiltun saw something beautiful instead, an immortal fearless artist practicing their craft on an unimaginable scale, unaffected by the chaos that it created. To witness such a godlike Aberration would fill the mind of a humanoid with existential dread. It focused all of it's eye stalks on the starry skies above and saw an entity lurking at the center of the multiverse: Azathoth, the Greatest of Beholders. Byxo eventually reached the surface and saw a clear nights sky for the first time in it's life. The idea that the world was so big and so heavy terrified Byx and so it proceeded to use it's disintegration beams to burrow upward and away from such a Large Thing. Once upon a time in the Underdark a Beholder named Byxsokiltun was dreamed into existence by another slumbering Beholder. Beholders also have a brain that is split making each side two separate entities according lore neither side of the brain trusted their opposite side making the Beholder itself extremely paranoid however their are Beholders who’s brains don’t hide anything from each other making them a “Sane Beholder” but they are still as ruthless as the Beholders who’s brains don’t trust each other. Most Beholders are cruel and ruthless and rarely show mercy to anyone who is not of their kind. Beholders are said to be extremely intelligent and and possess a variety of powers such as levitation, a petrifying gaze, being able to disintegrate their enemies with the lasers they shoot from their eyes, or they also like to torture their victims by slowly killing them. Most Beholders tend to live underground and live in holes carved out by their eyes. The Beholder is described as a floating head with a single eye in the middle of its face, ten eyestalks extending from the top of its head, and a single, gaping mouth right under its main eye.
